New Volunteers' Needed to Keep the DWCV Alive

19 Sep, 2010
Prepare yourself for the DWCV's committee's long good-bye; this club needs a whole new line-up by this time next year otherwise the club will be in trouble. The current committee, as voted upon at last week's AGM, will serve another year and in all probability the majority of us will not stand again for a variety of reasons all timing together by coincidence.

The point I am trying to make, this year we need volunteers to teach the roles of treasurer and secretary in particular as otherwise the club will collapse under paperwork. Any help you can offer will be welcome; we can still offer help and advice - especially now with a years head-start.

In urgent need we need someone with technical ability to run the website, not for updating news as such, but the technical aspects. If someone can come forwards so we can hold a joint meeting when the current webmaster does the hand-over, it would be well timed.

We also need someone to help with the editing of Sonic, currently any help you can offer will greatly assist us in getting the magazine out on time. Eventually we shall require a new editor, but until now content and images would help greatly.

To run meetings, offer help on the day and anyone wishing to do a talk or panel please come forwards. Meetings will keep the club alive and right now we are trying our hardest to revamp them; but, if a new range of members do not step forwards, the club will die.

Harsh, but I need to speak clearly and loudly - volunteer now in any capacity.
