(Note: Dated 22/03/10 to keep message on top, but message really 19th, 20th, and 21st!

Now I am sure most of you shall be aware that First Contact will hold a convention featuring
Paul McGann (and some Trek bloke called Dominic Keeting) this Saturday. What is lesser
known is that Paul McGann will be presenting a Q & A at the Astor Theatre for the film Withnail
and I. If you have not seen this film, then its well worth coming along for that alone. That film
and talk only cost $26, so its really quite a bargain (considering just to see the abysmal Alice
in Wonderland cost me $20). Finally, just a reminder that the Doctor Who Club of Victoria's
next meeting shall be on Sunday the 22nd to avoid conflicting with the convention (and the
meeting after that is on April the 24th due to conflict with Supanova). Details for all are below:
I hope you can make at least one of these events.

Thanks for your time,

Sonic 177: RTD Special

Please send us any comments, reviews, stories, or any tid-bits at all for RTD's seasons.
The next issue of Sonic will feature them prominently. Anything, short or long is welcome.
A season or complete series review would be fantastic. I would like to compile this issue
over Easter, which is the start of April, so consider that a deadline for large submissions.

Friday March 19

Withnail and I plus Paul McGann Live!

Star of Withnail and I live on stage at the Astor

Plus he will hold an audience Q&A.

Director: Bruce Robinson
Starring: Richard E. Grant, Paul McGann

A delightfully wicked comedy about two unemployed actors in London in the late 1960s.
They struggle to make something of their miserable lives and undertake a disastrous
holiday in the country. George Harrison was the executive producer. Cult favourite.

“We want the finest wines known to humanity — we want them here and we want them now!”
(Grant seated at a cheap diner). Watch for the dead chicken. (GF)

office during normal opening hours or by telephone on (03) 9510–1414 ($1.50 handling and
